The Lumia 955 runs with Windows PRT, the next Windows for ARM based phones, tablets and phablets. Instead of Windows Phone and Windows RT there is only Windows PRT from now on. It allows higher display resolutions, devices with on-screen virtual buttons and better support for new technology. More features like using a digital ink on a phone or phablet and much more options for customization (more colors, more tile sizes etc.) are also included. Additionally Windows PRT contains a Notification Corner, which gives the user an overview on settings and current releases such as messages, e-mails, updates or events. The integrated desktop environment (new function: run apps in the X Window mode) of Windows RT will also be available to phones and phablets. Furthermore Windows PRT allows you to use your phone, tablet or phablet as a computer (requirements: docking station, external display, keyboard and mouse). Windows PRT is the possibility of using mobile devices as an efficient tool for everyday office work.
The Lumia 955 is made on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805, 4 GB DDR3-RAM, 5.5″ PureMotion HD++ ClearBlack Super-Sensitive IPS display with 1440 x 2560 pixels (538 ppi) and it houses a 4000 mAh replaceable battery, which can be charged wirelessly.
